Artist's Statement

I must be excited about the subject to paint my best. There must be something that touches my heart or brings forth an emotional response.

The excitement of painting starts with putting color to paper, from the first brush of color the thrill begins. I move to blending and pairing colors that please the eye and find shades and shadows that enrich the subject. I feel a fluid style helps the viewer read his own story and feelings into the painting.

Frequent trips in the United States, to Europe and Canada provide a broad range of subjects and input to inspire my passion for painting.

My work is exhibited in many venues in Florida and I have studied with various teachers in Florida for over 30 years. Several commissions painted for local art lovers and paintings hang in private collections in Michigan, Texas, Florida and Oklahoma.

I am a member of the Florida Watercolor Society, Women's Caucus for Art and the Artists League of Orange County.
